Outdoor Solar Light Buyer’s Guide.
A solar light is a great way to make your home feel safe and welcoming. They’re also environmentally friendly! This buyers guide will walk you through what questions you need to ask when buying a solar light. We’ll also highlight the best features that are available on today’s outdoor solar light market.
What type of outdoor solar light are you looking for?
Outdoor solar lights come in a variety of different styles and shapes. Some are decorative and can be hung from a tree or post to create ambiance, while others are more functional and meant to illuminate certain areas.
Solar lanterns are a popular choice because they resemble traditional lanterns that have been around for many years. They’re often shaped as an obelisk or handheld, and come in various colors.
Solar post caps are another great option provided they match your home exterior design. Solar post caps provide a strong light because they have a much larger surface area to distribute the light evenly.
Some outdoor solar lights are designed to be mounted on the wall, rather than sitting on a flat surface. This is great for adding light to areas that have shaded walls and aren’t getting enough natural sunlight.
How much maintenance will your outdoor solar light need?
If you don’t want any added stress in your life then we suggest purchasing an outdoor solar light with LED bulbs which require little-to-no maintenance. LEDs provide years of continuous bright illumination without ever needing replacement!
Some homeowners prefer lighting options such as torches or candles because they add ambiance and warmth outside at night when used around patio furniture or fire pits . But these lights do require more frequent attention since their flames can go out unexpectedly if properly extinguished after use.
Consider your climate when buying an outdoor solar light
Don’t forget to consider your environment! Some solar lights work better than others depending on the type of climate you live in.
Outdoor solar lights that are exposed to strong winds or heavy rainfall can be damaged over time if they aren’t built out of high-quality materials like stainless steel and glass domes .
Where will you place your outdoor solar light?
There’s no point purchasing an outdoor solar light that doesn’t provide enough illumination for its intended area, so make sure it’s ideal before making a purchase.
If you need help deciding where exactly would look best then we recommend using string lighting options which can easily be rearranged until they reflect how bright the space needs to be at night.
Solar path lighting is another great option to consider if you need a way to guide guests through your yard or up the driveway . It’s inexpensive, easy to install and turns on automatically at night which makes it perfect for any homeowner looking for efficiency!
What features do you need your outdoor solar light to have?
Waterproof design
No matter how much you love spending time outdoors by the pool, having water damage can cause problems over time so make sure your outdoor solar light has a waterproof exterior that protects it against rain and other elements.
Safety design
Solar lights that have a safety feature, such as a dusk-to-dawn sensor or light control technology , are perfect for when you’re away from home because they automatically turn on at night to make sure the area is illuminated properly.
Battery backup
If your solar outdoor lighting doesn’t come with an option for battery backup then we suggest purchasing one separately if you’d like them to stay lit all night long .
Most homeowners use rechargeable batteries which can be swapped out every few months depending on how much time between charges it takes!
Solar panel orientation
Look for outdoor solar lights that allow you to orient the panels in the direction that works best for you.
